Equity indices end flat after choppy trade, energy stocks lose

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices underwent bouts of volatility on Tuesday but ended flat despite strong global cues after data showed that China's manufacturing sector grew more than expected in June. At the closing bell, the BSE S&P Sensex was down by 46 points or 0.13 per cent at 34,916 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 10 points or 0.1 per cent at 10,302. Sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were mixed with Nifty PSU losing by 1.7 per cent and pharma by 1.5 per cent. Among stocks, Bharat Petroleum Corporation was down by 2.5 per cent to close at Rs 373.75. Power Grid Corporation fell by 1.9 per cent, GAIL by 1.8 per cent, Indian Oil Corporation by 1.7 per cent, Coal India by 1.2 per cent and ONGC by 1 per cent.
