Cosmos Bank Chairman calls cyber hack ‘international attack on banking system’

Pune (Maharashtra), Aug 14 (ANI): Cosmos Bank chairman Milind Kale reacted on Pune’s Cosmos Bank ATM server hacked and said that it's an international attack on banking system. “In India, 2800 false transactions of Rs 2.5 crore using 400 debit cards took place. It's an international attack on banking system. No customer account affected, dummy cards were used and switching system of the bank was hacked,” said Kale. He added, “Using 450 International Visa Debit Card, 12000 transactions took place in 2hrs 13min from ATMs and other locations across 21 countries on Saturday. It is a big criminal racket.” Cosmos cooperative bank in Pune has become the latest victim of the cyber fraudsters as hackers infiltrated into the bank's system and siphoned Rs 94 crore between August 11 and August 13.
