New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): Even as the national capital’s air is becoming more and more toxic, the sales of air purifiers have not picked up. One of the reasons for this is higher GST on air purifiers, feels Kishalay Ray, president of consumer electronics, Sharp. Ray added that unawareness among people and “two types of opinions” of doctors on air purifiers is another reason for the stale growth in sales of air cleaners. Ray requested Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to lower the GST rate on air purifiers to five percent, as he felt that air purifiers were health category item.
