Delhi Cabinet Minister announced that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has instructed officials to resolve waterlogging in 445 areas within 15 days. PWD, I&FC, and MCD will coordinate efforts ahead of the monsoon to prevent water-related disruptions.
A trial of the recycler machine was conducted in Greater Kailash area on Sunday. PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh personally oversaw the trial and inspection of the machine.
According to the regional meteorological centre, the weather conditions will likely cause waterlogging and slippery roads in some areas, and rains may also affect traffic.
"Our top priority is to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon, and the work is being carried out on a war footing. Additionally, we will seek written updates from MLAs regarding the progress of desilting drains and sewage management," the CM said.
"We are all committed to making Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi, and Viksit NDMC. Tenders have been issued to ensure that every household in 34 clusters gets water," Chahal told ANI.
Rizwan Ahmed, who is a resident of Khajuri Khas and the parent of a child, told ANI that the authorities have merely given assurances, but the issue has not been resolved.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a warning for Tamil Nadu, forecasting heavy rainfall across multiple districts until December 14.
According to IMD, Cyclone 'Fengal' over Southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards earlier and is expected to cross north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts later in the day.
