West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Thursday said he plans to meet with victims' affected by the recent violence in Murshidabad, sparked by protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli said he was hopeful that justice would be delivered by the Supreme Court as it will resume hearing on the petitions challenging the recently passed Waqf Amendment Act for the second consecutive day.

Muslim cleric Chaudhary Ifraheem Husain on Thursday criticised the opposition's petitions against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025, stating they are misleading and trying to waste the court's time.
"You are against Muslims, but in Saudi Arabia, you meet Muslims... If you go to Dubai, UAE, whose hospitality do you take there... You say one thing in your country and another outside," Banerjee said while addressing the gathering in a meeting with Muslim clerics.
