NDRF DIG Mohsen Shahidi said that over 200 deaths have been declared and bodies were being recovered on Thursday following the landslides in Kerala's Wayanad.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired an all-party meeting in Wayanad on Thursday to discuss the situation as landslides claimed over 100 lives.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday claimed that over 200 people have lost their lives in the Wayanad landslides incident, adding that preventive measures are required and the focus should be on rescuing the people.
After two massive landslides struck Wayanad, Kerala, on Tuesday morning, causing extensive destruction, rescue operations are being intensified, political leaders are engaged in discussions, and financial aid is being mobilized for the region.

After the devastating landslides that struck early Tuesday morning in Mundakkai and Chooralmala, Wayanad, officials have confirmed a death toll of 164.
"It is feared that by the time the rescue operation is over we will have lost more than 200 lives...Not everything in our country is politics," Tharoor said.
