Punjab's Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa, on Sunday challenged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take appropriate action against the 48 revenue officials, who were found to be "tainted" in the Vigilance Bureau's report.
According to officials, the accused ASI was identified as Satnam Singh. Balbir Singh, the ASI's aide, was also arrested from his house at Mohalla Jagdishpura in connection to the case.
The Vigilance Bureau arrested him for amassing assets disproportionately to his known sources of income during the period of 2016 to 2022, said a press release by Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab.
According to a press release by Lokayukta Police Superintendent of Police (SP) C A Simon, the accused was identified as Jyothi Poojary, the convener of Niranjana Swamy aided school in Bajpe, on the outskirts of Mangaluru.
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday nabbed a Patwari and his private assistant (PA) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000, said the officials.
"The arrested person has been identified as Advocate Rohit Sharma, who is a son of Shiv Kumar, PCS (Retd). Shiv Kumar got retired in February 2020 and has remained posted as LAC, GMADA from 2015-16," the official spokesperson said.

The investigation was initiated on basis of FIR registered by Vigilance Bureau, Punjab. A charge sheet was filed by the Vigilance Bureau in the said FIR against the accused Varinder Pal Singh Dhoot and others confirming the allegations.
