The United States has issued new navigation guidelines for US-flagged vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, advising them to avoid Iran's territorial waters and exercise caution amid heightened tensions, following recent US-Iran indirect talks and ongoing regional security concerns.
An illustration of the flight path was not provided by the Ministry because no PLA aircraft were detected operating around Taiwan during this timeframe.
According to an official release, the vessels involved devised a method to smuggle large volumes of cheap oil and oil-based cargo from conflict-ridden countries and profit by mid-sea transfer to motor tankers in International waters.
In a post on X, the MND said, "8 sorties of PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 6 out of 8 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern and eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded."
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) on Sunday said that it detected one sortie by China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft and six People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels operating around its territory up to 6 am (UTC+8).
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected three sorties of Chinese military aircraft and eight naval vessels operating around its territory as of 6am (local time).
