Renowned folk singer, known as the 'Bihar Kokila,' Sharda Sinha passed away on Tuesday at around 9.20 pm due to refractory shock as a result of 'septicaemia', said AIIMS Delhi official.
The 72-year-old Sinha, celebrated for her soulful renditions of folk music, particularly during the Chhath festival, is battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, which she has been fighting since 2018.

The Ziv Medical Center in Safed, where eight are being treated, said three are in serious condition, of whom two remain sedated and on ventilators. The hospital added that all three are suffering abdominal and chest injuries, and limb fractures.
"A total of 22 patients have been admitted to the hospital and five have lost their lives due to suspected heatstroke. 12 patients are on ventilators and in critical situation. The majority of patients are labourers who work in extreme conditions," the hospital official said.

According to the Delhi Fire Department, a total of 12 children were rescued, out of which six have died, one is on the ventilator and five are admitted to the hospital.
