US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden expressed condolences to India over the devastating landslides in Kerala's Wayanad that took the lives of over 300 people.

According to the office of the State Revenue Minister K Rajan, at least 63 people were dead and a total of 116 people are reported to be injured in the landslides that hit the district in the early hours today.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Tuesday visited the Health Department Directorate and assessed the ongoing arrangements following massive landslides that struck the Meppadi area in Wayanad.
At least 44 people were killed and around 70 were injured following a series of massive landslides that struck Meppadi in the state's Wayanad in the early hours of July 30.
Minister Rajesh said that 250 people have been rescued so far and were shifted to temporary shelters. He added that rescue operations are undertaken on war-footing.
