Union Minister of Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya launched "eShram - One Stop Solution" portal, aimed at the welfare of unorganised workers, during an event in New Delhi on Monday.
As per the Ministry of Labour and Employment, eShram-One Stop Solution will act as a mediator to ensure that unorganized workers have easy access to a variety of government schemes/programs. This initiative will help unorganized workers become aware of the schemes designed for them.
Workers engaged in various sectors, including building construction, loading and unloading, watch and ward, sweeping, cleaning, housekeeping, mining, and agriculture within central sphere establishments, will benefit from the revised wage rates.
Organised by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, the meeting will focus on key issues such as labour reforms, the eShram National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW), Building and Other Construction Workers (BoCW), and employment generation.
The Ministry has issued a letter to all State Governments, urging them to include migrant workers, construction workers, beedi workers, cine workers, non-coal mine workers, contract labourers, and other unorganised workers in the housing scheme.
According to an official release, "This achievement highlights the social impact and the government's commitment to support unorganised workers across the country."
