Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the Union Budget presented in Parliament lays out the roadmap for Vikas Bharat, and the railway budget of Rs 2,78,000 crore is a clear step in that direction.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that the Union Budget 2026 focuses on the poorer sections of society, the growing youth, farmers, and women, underlining the allocation of Rs 1.4 lakh crores for the state.
"What is announced for Kerala? Total disappointment for Kerala. For the last ten years, they have been promising to give AIIMS to Kerala. In this budget, there is no mention of the aims for Kerala," he said.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday lauded the Union Budget 2026 and said that it is a mature budget. He said that Rs 20,000 crores given for Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) would benefit the refineries.
"Even with elections in mind, they have not announced anything for Tamil Nadu. They are not giving us anything, but then they want to mine rare earth from Tamil Nadu. It is a very disappointing budget," Kanimozhi said.
