Ahead of Haryana assembly polls, state Congress chief Chief Udai Bhan has sought stern action against nine party rebels who are contesting against the party's official nominees or supporting candidates of other parties
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, among other leaders, were also present at the manifesto launch at the AICC headquarters in Delhi.
A Congress worker said that despite tickets being seized twice, state President Udai Bhan's son-in-law and his daughter were given tickets again, further adding that the candidates would resign or contest on their own if their tickets were not taken back.
Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan and LoP Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday arrived at Himachal Bhawan for the Haryana screening committee meeting to discuss the election strategy for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls.
"Congress workers must condemn such comments and senior leaders of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and party chief are silent on this and this shows their (Congress) culture and by keeping silent, they are supporting such comments," said Dhami.
Reacting to the remarks of Haryana Congress Chief Udai Bhan's derogatory remarks targeted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and at him, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the people of the state will give a reply to the grand old party.
"The kind of words he used for the Prime Minister of our country and Haryana Chief Minister, so far neither Sonia Gandhi nor Mallikarjun Kharge spoke a word on this," the Haryana BJP state party chief said.
