The Tamil Nadu government has filed its response (counter-affidavit) in the Supreme Court seeking directions to set aside its decision to order a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the Karur stampede case.
IPS officer Sumit Sharan, a member of the three-member committee headed by retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi to oversee the CBI probe into the Karur stampede, arrived at the CBI office in Karur on Monday.
