Expressing condolence to the victims in the tragic train accident in Odisha, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has demanded a high-level inquiry into the Odisha train accident.
Amid the horrifying triple train collision that has jolted the whole country and has claimed the lives of more than 280 people, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that it is necessary to investigate the matter.
Leaders from across the world, including President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, expressed condolences for the triple train crash that occurred in Odisha in which over 260 people were killed.
Tamil Nadu Police has set up control rooms for people to contact and know the whereabouts of people known to them who are stranded in the unfortunate accident in Odisha's Balasore.
"Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah has deputed a team led by Minister Shri Santosh Lad to ensure the safety of Kannadigas in Balasore train incident," tweeted the Chief Minister's Office.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences to the Government of India and its people and to the families of the victims of this tragedy, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
