China is stealing Tibet's groundwater and selling it back to Tibetans, who previously got it for free. In one of the ads, a young Tibetan nomad woman was seen promoting a Chinese brand of bottled water that is actually sourced from Tibet.
The local government has instructed the residents to cooperate and has also given instructions to impound lands. They have threatened to withhold compensation from anyone who refuses to give up their land.
The forum held in Beijing brought together government officials, experts, representatives of enterprises, and media organizations from both domestic and international spheres.
Thousands of Tibetans including monks and nuns and foreign followers from different parts of the world thronged to the monastery to pray for the long life of their beloved spiritual leader.
Secretary Blinken said: "We're also concerned about reports of the spread of mass DNA collection to Tibet as an additional form of control and surveillance over the Tibetan population."
"Chinese government spend more money on internal security than external security. China is the only government that does that. They invest in artificial intelligence whether it's electronic identification where they watch your movement including geolocation," Penpa Tsering said.
Demonstrators included members of the Tibetans Support Group and the Tibetan community, who led a demonstration in front of the Chinese Embassy on April 25, 2023, in Hague on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the 11th Panchem Lama.
"Hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have reportedly been 'transferred' from their traditional rural lives to low-skilled and low-paid employment since 2015, through a programme described as voluntary, but in practice their participation has reportedly been coerced," the UN experts said.
The protest organized by the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress NY-NJ chapter took place in front of the Chinese Consulate in New York from 1 pm to 2 pm (local time).
Hundreds of Tibetans gathered in the main Buddhist temple Tsuglagkhang in Dharamshala to offer prayers for the well-being of the 11th Panchen Lama. Buddhist monks and nuns led the prayer service in the temple.
London-based NGO The Democracy Forum held a virtual debate - titled 'Seventy-two years of Chinese colonial rule in Tibet' - to coincide with a visit to the UK by Penpa Tsering, Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration.
