A GMR-run call centre here received a bomb threat call for a Delhi-Pune Vistara flight, which was scheduled to take off from Delhi airport this morning.
Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested a 61-year-old man for making a threat call to Maharashtra Mantralaya, stating that a "terror attack" would take place in a day or two.
The Delhi police has launched an investigation in this context. According to Delhi Police, one of the person who received the threat call informed the police through a PCR call.
The Mumbai police control room on Sunday morning had received a threat over the phone from an unidentified caller. The caller claimed the possibility of a serial blast in a local train, according to the police.
"A police official from another state called Mumbai Control Police to report receiving a call yesterday at 3.30 pm claiming there would be a bomb blast or huge incident at the Domestic and International airports in Mumbai and Delhi," said officials.
"A call was received by Mumbai Police Control Room at 1 am about a white tanker filled with RDX has been proceeded from Mumbai to Goa in which two Pakistani nationals are also there," Mumbai Police said.
Delhi Police on Sunday registered a case in connection with a call to an Air India call centre in Pune on July 13, threatening the hijacking of a Delhi-Tel Aviv flight.
According to Mumbai Police, "Mumbai police control room received a threat call yesterday in which the caller threatened the police to prepare for a 26/11 terrorist attack if Pakistani national Seema Haider does not return to Pakistan."
According to police, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and vacated the premises. However, as per the officials, no objectionable material was recovered from the spot.
While issuing the threat, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh and claimed that he will leave for Malaysia with his men once he will get the money, the police said.
