Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol Thirumavalavan demanded a thorough investigation into the death of a Dalit youth, Akash Denison, who died while under police custody after being arrested in connection with an assault case in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district.
Speaking to reporters, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan reacted to the sudden transfer of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi to West Bengal, suggesting that the administrative transition may pose new challenges for the state.

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on Thursday criticised the Tamil Nadu government for not registering a case against actor and president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Vijay in connection with the Karur stampede that left 41 people dead.
"Thirumavalavan has started to panic. He says nothing should be done by just looking at the BJP. He has also stated that since there is no trust in the DMK, the Congress should form a separate committee. It clearly shows that Thirumavalavan has lost confidence in the DMK," Tamilisai said
"First of all, the frontline leaders of TVK have to realise that it is their own fault. It happened due to a lack of leadership. They are trying to accuse and make allegations against the DMK government," Thirumavalavan told ANI.
