The CCTV footage showed that a leopard slowly sneaked into the lawn area of a residence and tried to attack the dog sleeping outside the main door of the house. However, another dog woke up and started barking at the leopard and both the dogs chased the wild cat away.
The body of the leopard was found late at night on Thursday. The age of the big cat is said to be around 5 years. On getting the information about the matter, the officials of the forest department rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
A villager named Bharat Panwar who spotted the leopard at around 4 PM claimed that the same big cat has been roaming continuously in the village for the past couple of days.
Giving details, forest officials said the leopard was killed and buried by the locals of the Barpathar Tengani area after it attacked and injured three people in the area.

The department placed cages at different places by putting live chickens in it. The leopard came to eat the chicken kept in the cage in the morning and was caught. Now, preparations were made to send the captured leopard to Jungle Safari Raipur.
"We received a call at 8.10 PM (Tuesday) that a leopard was found dead on the Delhi-Meerut expressway. We rushed to the spot and the body of the leopard was found near the Kalchhina village under the Bhojpur police station area," DCP (Rural) Ravi Kumar told ANI.
According to reports, the remains of the leopard were said to be one month old. The carcass of one leopard was found in a decomposed state whereas only the skeleton was found of the other one.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said that a compensation of Rs 15 lakh will be given to the families of those killed in the leopard attack.
