Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai on Thursday slammed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for refusing permission for the Eru Thazhuvuthal festival.
Tamil Nadu BJP leaders said the party would send its inputs to the national leadership for the final decision. Party sources said BJP would make a final decision on Erode East bye-election within two days.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader TR Balu's son and party's IT Wing Secretary, TRB Raja slammed K Annamalai for sharing an "edited video" of Balu alleging that the Tamil Nadu BJP chief resorted to "cheap division-mongering in the name of religion."
Attacking the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP leader said Rahul Gandhi himself had admitted that there is no atmosphere of hatred in the country, indicating that the yatra has no motive.
"You have to understand the context. It was a very tense atmosphere. The Governor was made to feel unwelcome. If you look at the scenes unfolding before the Governor spoke, the Speaker even did not condemn the members who were shouting," Annamalai said.
He said Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra is useless since it lacks a clear vision. The BJP leader said Rahul Gandhi himself had admitted that there is no atmosphere of hatred in the country, indicating that the march is of no motive.
