This comes a day after the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal banned the film 'The Kerala Story' citing "maintenance of peace" and to avoid incidents of "hatred and violence" in the state.

The West Bengal government in a notification on Monday said that the movie 'The Kerala Story' is "likely to cause a breach of peace" and that it has prohibited the screening of the film to avoid "any incident of hatred or violence to maintain law and order in the state".

'The Kerala Story' has been facing protests across the country due to its storyline for quite some time. On Monday, during a media interaction filmmaker, Sudipto Sen opened up on the ongoing controversy related to his recent release film.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday, condemned the West Bengal government over its move of banning 'The Kerala Story' movie in the state, and accused the Opposition parties of doing "appeasement and vote bank politics".
