"Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "Tej" (pronounced as Tej) Crossed Yemen's coast and weakened into a severe cyclonic storm over coastal Yemen," IMD said in a post 'X'.
The Cyclonic Storm 'Hamoon' over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal moved northeastwards with a speed of 18 km per hour during the past 6 hours.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that the Deep Depression over the West-central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 6 hours.
The directive, while stating that facing this is a challenge and requires teamwork, asked ULB chiefs to recall their colleagues if they had been granted leave.
"The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Tej' over west central & adjoining southwest Arabian intensified into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm," the IMD said on X (formerly Twitter).
The weather agency said that the cylone will cross over the Yemen-Oman coasts between Al Ghaidah (Yemen) and Salalah (Oman) around the early hours of October 25.
Cyclone 'Tej', brewing over the Arabian Sea, is expected to transform into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) before noon on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
