On April 15, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a prosecution complaint (chargesheet) against top Congress members Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in connection with the money laundering case involving the National Herald.
Telangana Minister for Panchayati Raj D Anasuya 'Seethakka', on Wednesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Enforcement Directorate's chargesheet against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case.
Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday stated that the people of the country do not believe that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi will acquire any property, as the Nehru family have donated all their assets to the country.
The protestors tried to gather outside the ED office here, and the police present at the spot warned them to vacate the place. Later on, the police used water cannons to disperse the protestors.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Friday questioned why the Congress party is trying to obstruct the investigation if it has done nothing wrong, in relation to the ongoing National Herald case.
"It seems that Anurag Thakur is the one feeling 'sensationalised' by the National Herald, not the Congress. If people are feeling agitated or alarmed, let them explain the reasons. The truth should come out before the public," Rathore said.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, calling the relationship between corruption and Congress "innate".
"We are expressing our solidarity with the Gandhi family and the Congress party. They fought for the nation and sacrificed for the nation..." the Deputy CM said.
After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet against Congress leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi in connection with the alleged National Herald case, party President Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting on Saturday to finalise the strategy ahead of the hearing in the Delhi Rouse
"For the last 10 years, the ED was sleeping... It is absolutely a politically motivated case... This is their (BJP) old political game..." the Minister told ANI.
Sarang questioned whether being born in the Nehru family grants immunity from corruption allegations, highlighting that the allegations involving Congress and the Nehru family in the National Herald case are now public.
