Delivering another blow to the multi-state terrorist-gangster-drug smuggler network, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached five properties owned by members of the organised crime syndicates in Delhi and Haryana.
An Indian smuggler was caught red-handed with 14 gold biscuits by BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier from their area of responsibility in the Indo-Bangladesh International Border. The total weight of the seized gold is 1.632 kg worth Rs 93,76,464, said the official statement.
"The woman smuggler brought the smack from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. The action was taken by the Crime Branch Police and Padav Police team. One of the relatives of the woman here has used her as a carrier in the crime," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gwalior, Amit Sanghi said.
In a pan-India operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has busted a gold smuggling syndicate of Sudanese nationals operating through the Nepal border, said a press release by the Ministry of Finance.
