The flood situation in the Sivasagar district of Assam is still critical as nearly 18,000 people have been affected by the deluge, officials said on Wednesday.
“Considering the improvement of the flood situation and descending water level of Yamuna River, it has been decided by the competent authorities to withdraw all the restrictions imposed as per the orders on July 13th and 17th with effect from July 19th," read the official statement.
The Irrigation Minister is on a two-day tour of three districts of North Bengal, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Coochbehar, to review the flood situation in the region.
