As the Opposition continued to train guns on the Centre over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list in Bihar, Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Sandosh Kumar said that the exercise "intentionally" attempts to exclude Dalits, Adivasis, and Minorities from the voting list.
Tagore further in his letter highlighted the SIR exercise as an attack on the legacy of Babasaheb BR Ambedkar who "enshrined" universal adult franchise in the Consitution to empower citizens, irrespective of their caste, class or wealth.
Meanwhile, amid continued protest by the opposition, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the third day of the monsoon session on Wednesday.
