Following the understanding of the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan on May 10, life is gradually returning to normal in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Although caution and fear persist, locals have started reopening shops and resuming daily routines.
A fire broke out in several shops located in the Shirpur Jain bus stand area of Maharashtra's Washim on Saturday morning. Fire tenders were promptly dispatched to the site, and the fire-dousing operations are currently underway.
Bhupendra Singh, who resides in Akhnoor for work, said, "The situation in Akhnoor remains normal after the ceasefire was announced. Shops are opening, and people are returning to their work."

"In light of the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, the earlier request for the voluntary closure of shops and other establishments is hereby withdrawn. All shops and establishments are now permitted to operate as usual," the post said.
Sajjad Ahmed, a resident of a border village, standing before the remains of his shop, said that the shelling by Pakistan was target killing of civilians and that it was "injustice" to them.
