A day after withdrawing his decision to resign as the Nationalist Congress Party chief, Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that the u-turn was due to requests from "national-level leaders" and that it was not the right time to step aside.

Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader of Kerala PC Chacko on Thursday met Sharad Pawar and said that efforts are underway to persuade him to remain as party president.
