Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha MP Sumer Singh Solanki on Saturday said that the inauguration of the new Parliament building, on Sunday, will be a golden day in the history of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday on the eve of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, said that the symbol of transfer of power, Sengol, which was kept as a 'walking stick' in Prayagraj's Anand Bhavan will get its rightful place on Sunday.
The Adheenams (priests) handed over the sacred sceptre, 'Sengol', to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, on the eve of the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
At the inauguration of the new Parliament building on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will establish the historical and sacred "Sengol" in the Parliament House.
"The Adheenam has spoken in the true spirit of what exactly happened in 1947. Congress has to clarify why Sengol was marked as a walking stick in the museum," Annamalai told ANI.
"'Sengol' which is a symbol of our freedom was kept in a dark corner of a museum as a 'stick of Nehruji' by the Gandhi family," Irani said while speaking to media persons.
"I will attend the inauguration session... great pleasure," Italy's Envoy Vincenzo De Luca told ANI when asked how excited you are to attend in the inaugural session on Friday.
Union Minister for Power and Renewable Energy R K Singh on Friday slammed opposition leaders for boycotting the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building on May 28.
