Six people have been arrested in Maharashtra's Mumbai with nearly 2.6 kilograms of "Kashmiri Charas" and 120 grams of mephedrone (MD) drug seized from their possession in two separate operations, Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell officials said on Friday.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has recovered drugs worth Rs 13 crore from a woman passenger, arriving from Addis Ababa, at Maharashtra's Mumbai airport, according to an official statement by the DRI on Thursday.
Additional SP Rajendra disclosed crucial details about the operation. He revealed that all five suspects hail from Hyderabad and had arranged for two vehicles to transport the ganja from Narsipatnam to Karnataka.
The air customs authorities seized 306 grams of gold valued at Rs 19.17 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Trichy airport from Dubai, officials said.
Targets included a building in Khan Yunis which served as a headquarters and weapons storage facility. Weapons seized by Israeli forces included ammunition, explosive charges, and 20 mortar shells.
As part of the activity, soldiers raided the homes of Hamas operatives. In addition to the weapons, Israeli forces also seized maps which included a significant tunnel route, intelligence findings and photos of armed children dressed in Hamas uniforms.
"Acting on a specific tip-off, troops of BSF Meghalaya in different operations seized 37 cattle while being taken towards the International border by smugglers," the BSF said in a press release issued on Tuesday. The operations were carried out on Monday.
In a crackdown on the drug trade, the Special Crime Unit (SCU) of Bhubaneswar Police has arrested two notorious brown sugar peddlers and seized a significant amount of illegal substances valued at Rs 66 lakh.
