Jama Masjid Sadar Chief and Shahi Mosque Committee head, Zafar Ali, was brought to Chandausi Court on Sunday in connection with the November 24 Sambhal violence.
Jama Masjid Sadar Chief and Shahi Mosque Committee Chief, Zafar Ali, on Sunday claimed that he did not incite any violence regarding the November 24 Sambhal incident.
Zafar Ali, the chief of Jama Masjid Sadar and Shahi Mosque Committee, was taken into custody by Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday for questioning in connection with the violence that erupted in Sambhal on November 24 last year.
The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday summoned the Jama Masjid Sadar chief and the Shahi Mosque Committee chief, Zafar Ali for questioning regarding the violence which broke out in the area a few months ago.

BJP MP Dinesh Sharma welcomed the Allahabad High Court order granting permission to whitewash Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal, and said that it was neither the policy of Centre nor the state government to insult any religious place.
Sambhal Police said that security forces were on duty for long hours on March 13 and 14 to maintain law and order, working shifts of 14 to 16 hours to ensure that the festival passed without incident.

The contractor assigned by the ASI to whitewash the Sambhal Jama Masjid, stated that the work is likely to be completed within a week and a total of eight people have been working on it.
Holi and Ramzan Friday prayers have concluded peacefully in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh with people cooperating with the administration to avoid untoward incidents, an official said.
