Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Jaiswal has slammed the Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal alliance in Bihar, terming it "mismatched" and said both parties want to "reduce each other's "stature."
Following the Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress meeting in the national capital, former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam claimed on Tuesday that Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav want to turn Bihar into Bengal.
"There is no challenge. Even if the entire UPA, the entire INDI alliance fights, Nitish Kumar will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar," Samrat Chaudhary told reporters in Patna.
In a post on X, Kharge posted a video of meeting Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and others in New Delhi to begin preparations for the Bihar Assembly polls, scheduled to be held later this year.
The meeting was attended by Congress' Rahul Gandhi, party's General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and others. On the RJD side, MP Manoj Jha, MP Sanjay Yadav and other leaders were present.
Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav arrived at the Delhi airport early on Tuesday for an official meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss seat-sharing and poll strategy for Bihar ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
"This is a formal meeting. If we look at the allies of the Congress party, RJD has been the oldest ally as of now. In this formal meeting, the entire scenario will be discussed," RJD's Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha told ANI in Delhi.
Speaking to ANI, Jha took a swipe at the BJP over their allegations of "targeted violence" on Hindus, stating, "Kitni jagah ye card kheloge, ghis chuka hai. The time has come for PM Modi to break his silence. The country's social country is responsibility of Centre and all state governments.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that large volumes of liquor have entered Bihar which went undetected through multiple districts and police checkpoints in the state.
The Jan Suraaj Party is set to contest its first Assembly election in Bihar, which is likely to be held in October or November this year. The party earlier contested the by-polls in which they failed to open their account.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday attacked the Bihar government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the law and order situation in the state and said that the criminals are running like "amok" in Bihar.
