At the 2025 Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, 1100 priests will perform a Maha Yajna to grant 'Gau Mata' the status of National Mother. The sacred ritual will span an entire month, with 324 kunds and cow shelters for indigenous breeds.

Priests performed the Ganga Aarti, a sacred ritual dedicated to the holy river Ganga. The aarti typically takes place at sunset, where a group of priests gathers at the riverbank to offer prayers and show reverence to the river.
Women participated in a special Ganga Aarti at the Triveni Sangam in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj earlier. The ritual also served as a rehearsal for the upcoming Kumbh Mela.
'Bhasma aarti' (offering with ashes) is a famous ritual here. It is performed during the 'Brahma Muhurta' between around 3:30 and 5:30 in the morning. According to religious beliefs, the wishes of the devotee who participates in the Bhasma aarti are fulfilled.
