Gogoi hailed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for launching 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' campaign against BJP, saying that through this a message will go that Congres can go to any extent to protect the right to vote.
Shivakumar's remarks come as the Congress intensifies its campaign against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government over alleged vote manipulation and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
"If I say that even at this very moment, not everyone in Tamil Nadu has the right to vote, would you believe it? Don't think I'm trying to scare you, this is the truth. And the main reason for this situation is the SIR process," Vijay said.
Addressing a public rally in Katihar's Kadwa, Priyanka Gandhi said the battle of the Congress and the Mahagathbandhan today is not merely political but a fight to safeguard the fundamental rights of citizens, including the right to vote, which she claimed is under threat.
The Congress MP also alleged that many BJP leaders and workers, who had voted in elections in other states, voted in Bihar in the first phase of the election.
