Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday said that the Maharashtra Assembly election cannot be conducted fairly if Rashmi Shukla, whom he alleged is biased towards the BJP, remains at the helm of the state police force.
In an interview with ANI, Ashish Shelar, BJP Mumbai chief on Thursday, criticized Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut, asserting that Maharashtra recognizes their limitations. He challenged Uddhav Thackeray to contest the election in his own capacity, stating his poor leadership.
Speaking to the media, Fadnavis noted that while Raj Thackeray supported the BJP during the last Lok Sabha elections, his role has changed in the current assembly polls.
Raut highlighted the stark contrast between Thackeray's past opposition to BJP leaders and his current alignment with them, raising questions about his motives as elections approach.
