A Fast Track Special Court in Raipur on Tuesday convicted a youth for abducting and raping a minor girl and sentenced him to 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment.
A government school teacher in Berasia, Bhopal was sentenced to life imprisonment till death and a fine of Rs 20,000 for raping a 10-year-old girl by Additional Sessions Judge Gyaneshwari Kumre on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police swung into action and arrested the accused within 24 hours after Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Pandey ordered his arrest.
On Wednesday, a Delhi Police team reached the village in Saharanpur from where he was arrested, within 24 hours after the incident in North Delhi's Sarai Rohilla area was brought to their notice.
In a shocking incident, a cleric (maulvi) was booked for allegedly raping a 12-year-old minor in North Delhi's Sarai Rohilla area, said police on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Shivdas Manikpuri, a resident of Bhanwar Village, Janjgir Champa. The police also rescued the minor girl from the possession of the accused.
