When asked about sitting in the opposition benches in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, BJP MLA Champai Soren responded, "It (joining BJP) is not new. This had happened long ago."
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said that the newly formed cabinet has decided to take the state in a "better direction" in the coming times by preparing a framework to give a direction to the state.
On Thursday, a total of 11 MLAs took oath as Ministers in the JMM-led Mahagathbandhan government in Jharkhand, clearing the much awaited cabinet expansion in the state. The oath was administered by the state governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar in a swearing-in-ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended Anjan Shalaka-Pratishtha Mahotsav at Parshwa Prem Jineshwar Dham, renowned for its unique southern-style architecture, located in Rancharda village, Gandhinagar district, a press release said.
According to Rajesh Kumar, Chief Fire Officer, Doranda fire station, "Five fire tenders arrived at the spot and now the blaze is completely doused. We believe it was general fire. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained."

JMM executive president Hemant Soren took oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at a ceremony in Ranchi on Thursday, following the victory of the JMM-led alliance in the Assembly elections.

Congress leader BK Hariprasad on Thursday, speaking to ANI, stated that "things should not be done from a communal angle" in reference to the JPC's proposed Waqf Amendment Bill tenure extension.
"Last 5 years of his tenure were marked by corruption, allegations and scams, the CM himself had to go to jail, his number two of the cabinet, Alamgir Alam is still in prison so we hope CM takes lessons from the debacles of his last tenure," he told ANI.
Shivakumar praised Soren's administration, saying he has worked hard and gained the trust of the people. He arrived at Ranchi on Wednesday for CM-designate Hemant Soren's swearing-in ceremony, scheduled to take place on Thursday.
