Congress' in-charge for Maharashtra, Ramesh Chennithala alleged on Saturday that crores of rupees have been reportedly offered to two MLAs to join Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction.
The MVA alliance revealed its seat-sharing arrangement for 255 constituencies, assigning 85 seats to each party. The remaining 23 seats in the state Assembly will be allocated based on their respective party candidate lists.
Maharashtra Congress incharge Ramesh Chennithala said that all is well in the oppostion alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and said that the problem is in the ruling Mahayuti.
Notably, the MVA is still facing the heat from one of its allies, the Samajwadi Party, who is demanding more seats from the alliance to contest in the polls.
Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, who is party's in-charge for Maharashtra, has said that seat-sharing meetings for assembly polls were being held between Maha Vikas Aghadi constituents and an announcement is expected to be made soon.
Earlier on Friday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut announced that he plans to discuss seat-sharing arrangements with Rahul Gandhi for the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance and noted that there were many seats on which decisions remained pending.
The Assembly elections for the 288 member assembly in Maharashtra would be held in a single phase on November 20 with counting of votes scheduled to be held on November 23.
