Odisha has been witnessing heavy showers for the past 24 hours and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an Orange warning to 13 districts in Odisha for another next 24 hours.
The southwest monsoon advanced over Mumbai and Delhi together for the first time in decades as heavy rainfall with lightning and thunderstorm lashed the two cities on Sunday.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are expected over Punjab and Haryana from June 25 to 26, said an official press release on Sunday.
Subdivisional Magistrate Puran Singh Rana said that the district administration is taking stock of the damages caused by rainfall. Though no casualties has been reported, the district disaster management team has been alerted, he said.
