Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has predicted heavy to very heavy rain which is likely to continue in Mumbai over the next four to five days in the financial capital.
Apart from the 19 people reported dead, three have been reported missing, 34 have been injured and a total of 352 animals died in nine incidents of landslides, six incidents of flash floods and one incident of cloudburst reported between June 24 to June 28 in Himachal Pradesh.
The NHRC has issued notices to the Chairman, Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the Commissioner of Police, Delhi calling for a detailed report within 4 weeks.
"It has been raining heavily and we are stuck inside the hotel rooms. Due to the rain, we could not go anywhere outside," said Rahul, a tourist from Punjab.
According to the weather department, different areas of Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, and Solan districts are expected to get light rainfall with thunderstorms in the next 2-3 hours.
"NDRF, ITBT and personnel of other departments are coordinating with each other. Everyone has been asked to remain in an alert mode in case of a natural disaster," CM Dhami told ANI on the prevailing situation due to rainfall in the state.
Farooq Ahmed, a spokesperson for the provincial emergency services, released a statement blaming the fatalities on electricity, drowning, and lightning.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had forecast rainfall of 58 mm in the two cities. Meanwhile, sewerage lines remain blocked after the accumulation of rainwater in various areas.
