Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral R Hari Kumar today held a meeting with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. During the meeting, Admiral R Hari Kumar apprised Ranil Wickremesinghe of the progress of ongoing bilateral maritime engagements between India and Sri Lanka navies.
In an earlier release, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said the visit of CNS symbolises strong relations and close cooperation between the two countries, with Sri Lanka being accorded the status of 'Priority One' partner by India.
During the interactions, the Sri Lankan navy leadership and the ship's crew acknowledged the operational utility of the offshore patrol vessels developed by Goa Shipyard Limited.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, and Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar were among the officials who paid their homage on the occasion.
On the occasion of the Indian Navy Day 2022, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral R Hari Kumar recalled and paid tributes to the bravehearts of India for the supreme sacrifice they made in protecting the nation.
Speaking at the event, Navy Chief Admiral Kumar said, "The aim of the run was to spread the message of physical fitness and what the Navy is all about. Events like test our endurance, encourage physical fitness and develop stamina."

Emphasizing that the services are gender-neutral, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar on Wednesday said that there are already fighter pilots, and women air operations officers in the Navy, and now, women sailors are also being inducted in the Indian Navy.
Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar was speaking on the inaugural day of the fourth edition of Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD), an apex-level international annual conference of the Indian Navy, which is taking place from Wednesday till Friday in New Delhi.
