Protests were seen in cities including Washington, New York, and Chicago. On Tuesday evening, supporters of Imran Khan gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in London to protest against his arrest.
PTI workers protested in cities across the country, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Mardan, reported Geo News.
Former Pakistan prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday claimed that the police are carrying out a crackdown on his party workers, ARY News reported.
Khan, while addressing PTI workers and supporters, said that PTI will stage a series of protests after Eid-ul-Fitr. He alleged that the rulers planned to start crackdowns on PTI leaders and workers after April 27.
Khan while addressing PTI workers and supporters after one year of the regime change, said that PTI came into power during a difficult time and the economy was stabilised in the last year of the PTI government.
The bill is aimed at curtailing the powers of the chief justice -- including the suo motu and the formation of benches. The PTI has strongly condemned the move to pass the legislation and said it is an "attack on the judiciary".
"One thing is clear, whoever is in power, they will get a message today that people's passion cannot be curbed via hurdles and containers," Imran Khan said, adding that around 2,000 PTI workers have been put behind bars only to create hurdles for today's rally,
