Days after Atiq Ahmed's son Asad was killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, the mafia-turned-politician and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were killed on Saturday while being taken for medical in Prayagraj.

The last rites of 19-year-old Asad were performed by his maternal grandfather Hamid Ali in the presence of at least 20 to 25 of Atiq Ahmed's relatives, according to Satish Chandra, Superintendent of Police (Crime) Prayagraj.
"The issue of performing Friday prayer if Eid Al Fitr falls on Friday is a controversial matter among Muslim scholars, however, the Council rules that each sermon is to be held separately on its time as per its sunnah,'' the Council said in a statement.

Asad's maternal grandfather Hamid Ali told ANI that all the arrangements have been done at the house. His body will be taken to the graveyard where Asad's relatives will also be present.
Earlier Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and his aide Ghulam wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, were killed in an encounter with UP Special Task Force in Jhansi on Thursday, a plan was foiled to help the jailed gangster to escape, Uttar Pradesh Police said.
"We have a policy of zero tolerance, we will not spare any criminal. The people of the state are looking at parties standing in support of the criminals. They will not forgive them," Pathak said while speaking to ANI.
The ED launched searches in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation against gangster turned politician Atiq Ahmed, and his associates, according to sources.
