The ministry of coal on Friday said this was part of the ongoing efforts of the coal ministry to develop eco parks on reclaimed land and to promote mine tourism.
Union Minister of Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Thursday chaired a review meeting with the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), officials of the Ministry of Coal and Odisha government.
The demand for coal in India will continue and is likely to peak between 2030-2035, Union Minister of Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi informed Parliament during the recent sessions.
Joshi had in his remarks referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi not being present during the winter session of Parliament that concluded on Friday and said that he is breaking the Bharat Jodo Yatra to holiday abroad.
Joshi responded to Jairam Ramesh's remarks that the government had suddenly agreed to curtail the session by a week so that "it's use of Covid-19 to defam and derail Bharat Jodo Yatra acquires a shade of respectability".
"It's good that 'Nakli Gandhi' and 'Nakli Congress' remembers Mahatma Gandhi. First, they should study what we lost and gained and how we lost permanent membership at UNSC during their grand old leader Pt. JL Nehru's rule," Joshi told ANI.
Prominent party leaders participating in the meeting include national president JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and V Muraleedharan.
Meanwhile, the BJP has hit out against the Opposition protests. "There must be ideological differences but Savarkar is a freedom fighter, then ask Siddaramaiah, whose poster must be put, of Dawood Ibrahim?," Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said today in Delhi outside the Parliament.
