The Jammu railway authorities, in coordination with ticket checking staff, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Government Railway Police (GRP), have been facilitating the safe return of stranded tourists following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Government announced ex-gratia worth Rs 10 lakh each for the families of deceased victims and Rs 2 lakh for those who sustained serious injuries.
According to Prashant Nathani, relative of Yatish Parmar, his brother-in-law and nephew went to Jammu and Kashmir on April 16 and were supposed to stay there for 15 days. They went to listen to Morari Bapu's katha and left for sightseeing on Tuesday morning.
"The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is very tense. It is a very sad day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Innocent people have been murdered. This is genocide, target killing. People are being killed in the name of religion, and murderers are roaming free there," Amritpal Singh told ANI.
The attack, carried out by terrorists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, is one of the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
