The earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula in Japan on New Year's Day, is still affecting thousands of individuals, as over 8,000 individuals continue to live in evacuation centres, reported The Japan Times.
The Japanese government has extended its sympathies to those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and has shared important points for their consideration.
At least 64 people were killed in the massive earthquake of 7.5 magnitude that struck the Noto Peninsula and surrounding areas in central Japan on Monday.
The United States Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred on the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa prefecture around 4:10 p.m. local time, with a depth of 10 kilometres (6 miles).
