The Northeast Monsoon was active over South Tamil Nadu, bringing rainfall to several areas across Tamil Nadu and the Karaikal region, and light rain to Puducherry on Sunday.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, on Sunday reported that the Northeast Monsoon remained vigorous over Tamil Nadu, bringing widespread rainfall across the state as Cyclone Ditwah continued to move northward parallel to the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over Kanyakumari, Thoothukkudi, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu until 10:00 hrs IST today.
