After the two-member committee was formed to investigate the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, officials have started examining CCTV footage and collecting evidence.

According to officials, the announcement that the Prayagraj Special would arrive at Platform 16 created panic among passengers who were waiting for the Prayagraj Express at Platform 14.
Following the loss of 18 lives in stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the administration will take appropriate action to prevent such incidents in future.
Speaking to ANI, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "It is extremely unfortunate and is the responsibility of the Indian Railways and the Rail Minister, who denies taking accountability of the incident".
Speaking to ANI, BJP MP Yogender Chandoliya said, "It is an unfortunate incident... The Railway Minister has ordered a probe, and the cause of the incident will be identified once the investigation is over..."
The committee has initiated a High-Level Inquiry (HAG) into the incident, the Railways said. As part of the investigation, the committee has ordered securing of all video footage from the Railway Station to aid in the probe.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his grief over the loss of lives in a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. He hoped that such incidents were not repeated in the future.
Speaking about the incident, she said, "There was suddenly an announcement that the train will be coming on platform 14. People started running, and there was a stampede."
