Former prime minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday lashed at the BJP-led NDA regime at the Centre calling it a "despotic regime trying to unleash dictatorship in India".
As India braces for the outcome of the upcoming elections, the focus shifts towards the crucial reforms by the NDA government if it secures a third term.
Not known to hold back, the BJP candidate recently stirred a row by reaffirming her earlier statement that the country attained independence to the coming of the BJP-led NDA government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2014.
In a scathing attack against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Mukesh Agnihotri said that during its regime in the last ten years, the poor have become poorer and the job opportunities have shrunk in the country.
Speaking to reporters at the nomination filing by Congress candidates for the Legislative elections, Shivakumar said, "After the Lok Sabha elections, BJP-led NDA government may not be in power in Maharashtra. Congress will form the government there with the help of coalition partners."
The minister also asserted that the present ruling government of NDA is moving on the footsteps of the previous 1998 NDA government while aiming at robustly countering terror and building border infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday, accusing the party of "betraying" the people of the state over development and running a 'Gunda Raaj' in Andhra Pradesh.
