"There is shehzada in Patna just like one in Delhi": PM Modi takes jibe at RJD's Tejashwi Yadav

Darbhanga (Bihar) [India], May 4 (ANI): In a veiled attack on former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called the RJD leader a 'shehzada' equivalent to that of Congress leader in Delhi (Rahul Gandhi) who considers the entire Bihar as his "jagir" (property).
Addressing a rally in Darbhanga, PM Modi said that he has tabled a vision for the next 25 years.
"I have given a roadmap of development for the next five years. I have also tabled a vision for the next 25 years, but it is also important to keep in mind the past. Similar to a 'shahzada' in Delhi, there's a 'shahzada' in Patna too. One 'shehzada' considers entire India as his' jagir' since his childhood, and another one considers the entire Bihar as his 'jagir'. The report cards of these two prince are the same. There is nothing in their report card except scams," PM Modi said.
Referring to Bihar's land-for-job scam, the Prime Minister attacked Rashtriya Janata Dal and said that RJD has always indulged in "politics of appeasement."
"RJD used to take the land of poor people before giving them jobs. RJD has always indulged in the politics of appeasement. Now RJD has started counting who is a Hindu and who is a Muslim in the army. These people can do anything to divide society and break the unity of the country," he said.
He further attacked Congress and asserted that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru also opposed reservation on the basis of religion.
"The Constituent Assembly under the leadership of Baba Saheb had decided 75 years ago that reservation cannot be given on the basis of religion in our country. Pandit Nehru also opposed reservation on the basis of religion. But now Congress is going against the spirit of Pandit Nehru, is stabbing Baba Saheb in the back, and is engaged in making the Constitution redundant. Congress is trying to reduce the OBC quota and provide reservations to Muslims on the basis of religion and RJD is also working shoulder-to-shoulder with Congress in this conspiracy," he said.
Highlighting its central government achievements he said that in the last 10 years, the NDA government has provided pucca houses to 40 lakh poor people in Bihar.
"In the last 10 years, we have provided pucca houses to 40 lakh poor people in Bihar. About 1.25 crore people were given gas connections. Today, free rations, and free medical treatment are being provided to poor people. This period has come in the 21st century when India has once again broken all its shackles and stood up. Today India's reputation in the world has reached new heights. Today India has reached the moon, where no one has reached before," he said.
Praising the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar leadership, PM Modi said, "Today, under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar, the NDA government is working for the development of Bihar. Our inspiration is Karpuri Thakur, to whom we had the fortune of conferring with Bharat Ratna posthumously."
Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Bihar. The voting here will be held on May 13 in the fourth phase.
40 seats in Bihar are undergoing polls in all seven phases. In 2019, the BJP-led NDA swept the state by winning 39 out of 40 seats, while Congress won just one seat. RJD, a formidable force in the state, failed to open its account. (ANI)
